Vintage Longines Ultra-Chron Automatic watch - Calibre 431
A stunning watch made in 1972 by the renowned Swiss watchmakers Longines. The high quality Calibre 431 Ultra-chron automatic 25 Jewel mechanism has been fully professionally serviced and is guaranteed and the brushed steel case along with the lovely silver dial are in great condition.
In 1967 to celebrate their 100th Anniversary Longines produced their Calibre 431 Ultra-chron mechanism, a Hi-Beat movement which has a balance spring which beats at 36,000 beats per hour, which is twice as fast as a standard watch movement. The theory behind this is that the faster the beat the more accurate the watch. The 341 movement was produced for a further 9 years. It's a stunning feat of engineering.
